What is Teeth Whitening?

What are the teeth whitening methods?

In this process, 3 – 4 tones of tooth color are opened in one session. Another method is home bleaching. The whitening process takes longer than office whitening.

It is a process that takes between 5 and 7 days, depending on the coloration on the surface of the tooth. Before the home bleaching process, a personalized mouthpiece is made. The whitening gels that are put into the prepared mouthpiece are applied to the teeth with the help of the mouthpiece in 4 – 8 hours a day.

Can anyone whiten teeth?

Anyone can whiten, but a dentist must be examined before  whitening. Those who have advanced caries and advanced gum disease in their mouth should have the whitening process applied after their treatment. Apart from this, it is not recommended for people who have not completed their growth and development. It should also be done with caution to pregnant and lactating mothers.

Is whitening safe or will it damage the teeth?

Researches and microscopic studies; showed that there is no harm in using 10 percent whitening solution. There is not a single study that shows structural change and permanent damage. Different concentrations of drugs can also be used, but your doctor will decide how and how much to use them. During the 1.5-2 weeks after the treatment, other treatments such as filling and coating should not be applied to the teeth that have been whitened. Because the effect of the whitening drug continues, the retention of these restorations will be less.
